Let’s start off by finding out how many yellow dots we have. Each card has four yellow dots. To find the total, we can add four plus four plus four plus four plus four. There are five sets of four. We know that four plus four is eight, eight plus four is 12, 12 plus four is 16, 16 plus four is 20. We have 20 yellow dots if we add up all five of our cards.

Our first statement says that blank groups of four is 20 and we just counted five cards that have four each. Five groups of four is equal to 20. Our next statement says five times blank equals 20. We had five cards and each card had four yellow dots. Five times four is 20.
