Jennifer and Ethan are skip counting by fives: 36, 41, 46, 51. Which two numbers should Ethan say next?
We can record the numbers in the sequence in a tens and ones chart. If we look at the ones digit, we can see a pattern: six, one, six, one. This is because we are skip counting by fives; the numbers are increasing by five each time.
One plus five is six. 51 plus five is 56. If we add five to 56, we get 61. The two numbers that Ethan should say next are 56 and 61.
