Which holds the most? The bath, the cup, or the watering can.

To help work out which holds the most, a good question to ask would be which takes the longest time to fill — the bath, the cup, or the watering can. That would be the bath.

Or another way to think about the problem would be to say if they were full, which takes the longest time to empty? How long would it take to empty the bath of all the water? How long would it take to empty a coffee cup of all the coffee? And how long would it take to pour all of the water out of the watering can? Which would take the longest time to empty? The answer is the bath. The bath would take the longest time to fill with water. And it would also take the longest time to empty the bath of all the water. So the bath holds the most.
