Video Transcript

Express 𝑦 is equal to log to the base 𝑥 of 66 in its equivalent exponential form.

In order to answer this question, we recall the following rule. If log base 𝑎 of 𝑥 is equal to 𝑏, then 𝑥 is equal to 𝑎 to the power of 𝑏. In this question, our base 𝑎 is 𝑥. 𝑏 is equal to the variable 𝑦. And our value of 𝑥 from the general rule is 66. 66 is therefore equal to 𝑥 to the power of 𝑦.

This rule can be used to convert any expression in logarithmic form to its equivalent exponential form.
