When spinning a fair coin, what is the probability that it lands heads up?
There’s a heads side and a tails side. Therefore, there are two possibilities. So for it to land on its heads side, heads side up, that would be a probability of one out of two, one-half or 0.5, or 0.50, which, written as a percent, we’ll have to move the decimal point two places to the right and add a percentage sign and drop the zero in front. Therefore, our final answer will be 50 percent.
