Write the following numbers in ascending order: 82, 35, 64, and 17.

We have to write the numbers in ascending order. Ascending means from smallest to largest number. If we write each of the numbers into a place value chart, we can compare the value of each. Ascending means from smallest to largest, so we need to find the number with the smallest number of tens.

17 only has one 10. So we can write that one as the smallest number. Now the number with the least number of tens is 35, which has three tens. Now the number with the least number of tens is 64 with six tens.

So now we have the numbers written in ascending order from smallest to largest: 17, 35, 64, and 82.
