Simplify the square root of 123 plus the square root of 123 plus the square root of 123.

Looking at these three square roots, it might not be immediately obvious anyway to simplify. But imagine that it was 𝑥 plus 𝑥 plus 𝑥. We could simplify that to be three 𝑥. Two plus two plus two is six of course. But six is three times two. We’re adding two to itself three times. And what we’re doing here is adding the square root of 123 to itself three times.

And we could simplify that by saying three times the square root of 123.
