We’ll call 𝑎 our whole number. So our whole number squared is between 875 and 974. Can you think of a square value that falls between 875 and 974? I know that the number 900 falls between these two values. I also know that 30 squared equals 900. And that means the whole number 30 fits this criteria. And 30 falls between 29 and 31.

The whole number 30 falls between 29 and 31.
