Are the opposite angles in rectangles and rhombuses equal?
Let’s consider rectangles and rhombuses. What do we know about the angles in rectangles? In a rectangle, all four angles are right angles. Opposite angles both measure 90 degrees. And again, opposite angles measure 90 degrees. We can say that that is true for rectangles.
But what can we say about a rhombus? In a rhombus, all sides have equal length and here the opposite angles. We can also say that opposite sides in this rhombus are parallel. A rhombus is a parallelogram. And inside parallelograms, opposite angles are equal. Both a rhombus and a rectangle is a parallelogram.
And so it’s true that opposite angles are equal in rectangles and rhombuses.
