The data shows the nationality of 40 tourists who visited Luxor. Using a frequency table, determine the number of French tourists.

In our frequency table, we’ll compare nationality to the frequency, the number of occurrences of visitors from that nationality. In the table, there’re five different nationalities and a total of 40 tourists. If we take the frequencies of all five nationalities and add them together, the total should be 40.

First, we’ll total the number of Italian visitors. There were 13 Italian visitors. What was the frequency of American visitors? Nine Americans visited, and now French. There were 10 French visitors. How many Russian visitors? There were five. The remaining visitors were English. And there were three English visitors. This question wants us to use the frequency table to determine the number of French tourists.

Based on the data we were given, we can say that 10 French tourists visited Luxor.
