Find the coordinates of the points that would complete the rectangle. Give your answer as an ordered pair.
First, we need to complete the rectangle. This line is five squares or five spaces long. It begins at two on the π₯-axis and ends at seven, which makes a difference of five. And we can complete this line which goes from three to six on the π¦-axis, giving it a length of three.
Now we have the fourth and final point of the rectangle. Now we can find the coordinates. But we have to remember to write our answer as an ordered pair. We always write coordinates in the order π₯, π¦.
Letβs find the π₯-coordinate. If we draw a line from the point to the π₯-axis, we can see the coordinate is two. π₯ is two. And if we draw a line from the point to the π¦-axis, we can see the coordinate is six. The π¦-coordinate is six.
The coordinates of the point that completed the rectangle are two, six.
