The frog makes a quarter turn counterclockwise. Which way will she be facing?
We’re shown a picture of a frog sitting in the middle of a pond. And this is the direction which the frog is facing. Then, we’re told that the frog makes a quarter turn counterclockwise. And we have to work out which way she will be facing.
There are two important things we need to think about. We know the frog makes a quarter turn. If she makes a quarter turn in this direction, she would be turning clockwise, just like the hands on a clock. If she turns a quarter turn in the opposite direction, she will have made a counterclockwise turn. Which way is the frog facing now? Is she facing the rock, the duck, the lily pad, or the fish. The frog will be facing the rock.
