Find the reflection of the point 𝐴 in the line 𝐿.

We can imagine that this graph is a piece of paper and point 𝐴 is a little dot of paint. If we folded the paper at line 𝐿, where would point 𝐴 end up, where that dot of paint go?

Point 𝐴 is three units to the right of our line β€” of our line of symmetry. If we folded our paper in half, point 𝐴 would be three units to the left of line 𝐿. We can call this point 𝐴 prime.

𝐴 prime is located on the π‘₯-axis at two. It is two units to the right and it’s six units up. Its 𝑦-coordinate is six. 𝐴 prime is located at point two, six.
