In this video, we will learn how to write numbers up to 100 in words and how to recognise the word form of a number. Here are the numbers one to 10, written in number and word form. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10. Let’s keep on counting up to 20. 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20.

The numbers between 20 and 100 follow a pattern. Twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three, twenty-four, twenty-five, twenty-six, twenty-seven, twenty-eight, twenty-nine, thirty. The first word is the tens part of the number, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90. And the second word is the ones part of the number, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Here are all the multiples of 10 between 10 and 100. Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety, one hundred. So we write this number in words as eighty-eight. Write the number 85 in words.

The number 85 has eight tens, which is worth eighty. And we have five ones. This is how we would write eighty-five in words.
