State whether the answer to the sum is even or odd. Seven plus seven.

We have to find the sum of seven plus seven and then say whether the sum is odd or even. Let’s model seven plus seven. Here we have seven squares. And we need to add seven more. Now we have two lots of seven or seven plus seven. To find the sum of seven plus seven, we need to add both groups together.

We have to decide if this sum is an even or odd number. And we know that even numbers are divisible by two. That means we can divide even numbers by two. So let’s find the sum of seven plus seven by counting the squares in twos. This will help us decide if the number is odd or even.

One group of two is two. Two times two is four. Three twos make six. Four twos make eight. Five twos make 10. Six twos make 12. And seven twos make 14. The sum of seven plus seven is 14. And we know that 14 is an even number because it’s divisible by two.

We divided our 14 squares into groups of two. There were seven groups of two, which makes 14. The sum of seven plus seven is an even number.
