Count the circles. Which card shows the same amount?

We’re shown a line of circles. And we’re asked to count these circles. There are one, two, three, four, five, six, circles. We have to choose the card that shows the same amount. So we’re looking for a card which shows six circles. The first card shows a row of circles in a straight line. Maybe this has six circles. Let’s count them to check. There are only four circles on this card.

How many circles are there on the second card? One, two, three, four, five, six. So this is the card which shows the same amount. It has six circles. To make six, we can place six counters in a straight line. And we can also place six counters in two rows of three. Although they look different, it’s still the same number of counters.

The card which shows six counters is the one in the middle. Two rows of three make six.
