A bag of five lemons cost one pound. A bag of four oranges costs one pound 80. How much more does one orange cost than one lemon?

We’re being asked to compare the cost of one orange and one lemon. We’re told the cost of five lemons and the cost of four oranges. We need to use this information to help us calculate the cost of one. We know the cost of five lemons is one pound or 100 pence. So to calculate the cost of one lemon, we need to divide 100 pence by five. So now, we know the cost of one lemon is 20 pence.

100 divided by five is 20. We know the cost of four oranges is one pound 80 or 180 pence. So to find the cost of one orange, we need to divide 180 pence by four. Half of 180 is 90. Half of 90 is 45. So the cost of one orange is 45 pence.

Now, we have to calculate how much more one orange cost than one lemon. The difference between the cost of one orange and one lemon is 25 pence. So one orange costs 25 pence more than one lemon.

First, we calculated the cost of one lemon. Then, we calculated the cost of one orange. Then, we found the difference between the price of one orange and one lemon, which is 25 pence.
