The Gotham Knights, the Metropolis Meteors, and the Spartans won baseball games last summer. This bar graph shows how many games each team won. How many games did the Gotham Knights win?

This bar graph is telling us about three different baseball teams. But we are primarily interested in how many games the Gotham Knights won. To solve that, we’ll need to look at the labels for each bar. The first bar is for the Gotham Knights, the second bar for the Metropolis Meteors, and the third bar for the Spartans.

We’ll highlight the Gotham Knights bar because that is the team we’re interested in. We see that this bar goes all the way up to the number 14. And the label on the left tells us that those numbers describe the number of games the teams won. Since the Gotham Knights bar goes up to 14, we can say that the Gotham Knights won 14 games. It definitely seems like they hit it out of the park.
