Lesson Plan: The Ideal Gas Law in terms of Number of Moles Physics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to calculate the relationship between the number of moles in an ideal gas and the values of its bulk properties.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- relate the bulk properties of an ideal gas to the number of moles of the gas using the formula ,
- recall that is approximately 8.31 J/Kβ mol.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the ideal gas law in the form ,
- the ideal gas law in the form ,
- moles as a unit.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- the Boltzmann constant,
- Avogadroβs number,
- the kinetic energies of gas particles.
