Lesson Plan: Linear Relationships Mathematics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to identify and graph linear relationships.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- understand the difference between a linear relationship and a nonlinear relationship,
- identify the slope, or rate of change, of a linear relationship,
- interpret the graph of a linear relationship,
- graph a linear relationship given information about it.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- ordered pairs and graphing coordinates,
- tables of values for functions.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- finding the equation of a linear function.
