Objectives

Students will be able to

  • model 3-digit numbers in a place value table,
  • state the value of any digit in a 3-digit number,
  • explain how the value of a digit in a 3-digit number can change based on its place.

Prerequisites

Students should already be familiar with

  • modeling hundreds, tens, and ones using base ten blocks,
  • writing multiples of 100 through 1,000 using numerals and words,
  • how to read, write, and model 2-digit numbers.

Exclusions

Students will not cover

  • comparing 3-digit numbers.
