Lesson Plan: Ohm’s Law Science • Third Year of Preparatory School
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to use Ohm’s Law to calculate the current through a component, the potential difference across a component, and the resistance of a component.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- use in all permutations.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- what charge and current are,
- what potential difference is,
- what resistance is,
- how to use voltmeters and ammeters,
- the units for charge, current, potential difference, and resistance,
- the circuit symbols for a cell, a battery, a bulb, and a resistor.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- parallel circuits,
- the resistance or potential difference of components in series,
- any voltage source other than a cell or battery,
- variable resistors,
- any kind of non-direct current.
