Objectives
Students will be able to
- define the density of a substance,
- state the formula for density and use it to calculate the density of an object or that of a substance,
- use experimental data to determine the density of a liquid,
- describe why objects float on or sink in water,
- predict whether a substance will float or sink when placed in water,
- recall and describe real-life examples in which density is important.
