Lesson Plan: Marine Food Chains Geology
This lesson plan includes the objectives and prerequisites of the lesson teaching students how to classify marine organisms according to their feeding habits and identify the characteristics and different trophic levels of marine food chains.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- compare between different marine organism’s feeding habits,
- identify the different trophic levels of marine food chains,
- identify the role of different marine groups (plankton, carnivores and saprophytes) in marine food chains,
- understand the characteristics of marine food chains including the changes in energy flow and biomass through trophic levels.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- Types of organisms according to their feeding habits.
