Objectives
Students will be able to
- draw an area model to represent the product of a two-digit number by a one-digit number,
- find missing numbers in area models,
- calculate products of two-digit numbers with one-digit numbers,
- understand that we can break apart the number in different ways and get the same solution,
- pick efficient ways to break apart the number.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the multiplication tables up to ,
- partitioning two-digit numbers in different ways.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- column multiplication.
