Lesson Plan: Mechanical Power Physics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to calculate the power required for a force to do an amount of work on an object in an amount of time.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- use the formula work done = power time in all combinations.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the formula work done = force distance moved in direction of force,
- momentum,
- Newton’s laws of motion.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- using calculus to determine work done or power.
