Lesson Plan: Investigating Respiration
This lesson plan includes the objectives and prerequisites of the lesson teaching students how to describe the methods and equipment used to investigate the rate of respiration in living organisms.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- discuss on an ethical basis what to consider when performing experiments with living organisms,
- use a simple respirometer to investigate the rate of respiration in living organisms,
- outline a simple experiment to investigate anaerobic respiration in yeast.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the processes of aerobic and anaerobic respiration.
