Lesson Plan: Vertices of 2D Shapes Mathematics • 1st Grade

Objectives
Students will be able to
- identify the number of vertices in common 2D shapes,
- compare the number of vertices in common 2D shapes,
- classify common 2D shapes according to the number of vertices.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- identifying common 2D shapes.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- sides of 2D shapes,
- 3D shapes.
