This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to estimate the answers to some equations that do not have exact solutions using the method of trial and improvement.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- estimate the solution to quadratic and cubic equations using trial and improvement.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- powers and roots.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- solving equations other than polynomial equations of degree 3 or less.
