Objectives
Students will be able to
- subtract a one-digit number from a teen number by breaking apart the teen number model calculations with ten frames,
- write number sentences for each step of the calculation.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- reading and writing numbers to 20,
- subtracting numbers from 10,
- using different strategies to add two single-digit numbers.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- number lines,
- minuends larger than 19.
