Objectives
Students will be able to
- recall and identify the associative and commutative properties of addition and multiplication,
- recall and identify the distributive property of multiplication,
- rewrite expressions by applying the associative and commutative properties of addition and multiplication and the distributive property of multiplication,
- apply the associative and commutative properties of addition and multiplication and the distributive property of multiplication to solve problems.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- simplifying expressions by collecting like terms.
