Lesson Plan: Acceleration over Distance and Time Physics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to calculate acceleration using an object’s initial velocity, its displacement, and its acceleration time using the formula 𝑠 = 𝑢𝑡 + 1/2𝑎𝑡².
Objectives
Students will be able to
- derive the formula from a velocity–time graph,
- derive the formula algebraically,
- use the formula in all combinations.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- .
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- nonuniform acceleration,
- .
