Lesson Plan: Graphing Linear Relationships Mathematics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to graph linear relationships.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- graph a linear relationship by first constructing a table of values,
- understand how the nature of a linear relationship affects the slope of the graph,
- describe what is happening in each part of a piecewise linear graph relating to a real-life situation,
- draw a linear graph describing a real-life situation.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- relations,
- dependent and independent variables,
- input–output tables.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- linear functions,
- equations of straight lines,
- calculating slopes,
- intercepts.
