Lesson Plan: Acceleration over Time Physics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to analyze the motion of objects that change their velocity in some amount of time using the formula for acceleration, 𝑎 = Δ𝑣/Δ𝑡.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- use the formula in all combinations,
- distinguish between acceleration in and opposite to the direction of initial velocity,
- identify uniformly accelerated motion on velocity–time and displacement–time graphs.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- velocity,
- displacement.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- determining an acceleration that is not constant unless it is an average acceleration,
- .
