Lesson Plan: Bar Graphs Mathematics • 6th Grade
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to draw and interpret statistical diagrams.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- display and analyze bar graphs to answer questions,
- use a double bar graph to display two sets of related data using bars of different colors and heights,
- use line graphs to analyze data, communicate information, and get insights from data,
- use pie charts to analyze data, communicate information, and draw conclusions from this data,
- construct a pie chart and find the central angles of its sectors.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the data presented as a frequency table,
- fractions and percentages.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- grouped frequency tables.
