Lesson Plan: Comparing Decimals: Tenths and Hundredths Mathematics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to use models and place value tables to compare numbers with up to two decimal places.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- compare decimals with one decimal place using models,
- compare decimals with two decimal places using models,
- compare decimals by considering the place value of the digits.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the place value of numbers with two decimal places,
- metric units of measurement.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- working with numbers greater than 100,
- numbers with three decimal places.
