Lesson Plan: Colors of Light Physics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to describe the reflection, transmission, and absorption of lights of different colors and the relation between colors and light wavelengths.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- describe how the selective absorption of frequencies of light affects the observed color of an object,
- describe how the selective reflection of frequencies of light affects the observed color of an object,
- rank the wavelengths of light waves that correspond to different colors of light.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the visible light spectrum.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- any details about the directions of transmitted and reflected light rays.
