Objectives
Students will be able to
- count objects in groups of fifty,
- count forward and backward in fifties, including counting on number lines,
- find 50 more and 50 less than a number,
- recognize the link between counting in 5s and counting in 50s,
- investigate patterns in the digits when counting in fifties.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- counting in 5s,
- the place value of 3-digit numbers.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- multiplying by 50.
