Objectives
Students will be able to
- subtract decimals with up to two decimal places using number lines,
- subtract decimals with up to two decimal places using area models,
- subtract decimals with up to two decimal places using place value models,
- draw models to subtract two decimals with up to two decimal places.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the place value of decimals with up to 2 decimal places,
- modeling decimal numbers with up to 2 decimal places,
- writing decimal numbers with up to 2 decimal places.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- subtracting decimals with the column method.
