Lesson Plan: Writing Tenths
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to write tenths in word, digit, and expanded forms.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- write any number of tenths as a decimal,
- write decimals in word form,
- write decimals in expanded form,
- write decimals in unit form.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- place value of numbers up to 1,000,
- multiplying and dividing by ten and their effect on place value,
- place value of the tenths digit.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- writing hundredths.
