Objectives
Students will be able to
- identify when number sense can be used to compare addition and subtraction sentences,
- compare number sentences by calculating the answer,
- use number sense to compare number sentences without calculating.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- adding and subtracting within 10,
- drawing models for addition and subtraction equations.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- numbers over 10.
