Lesson Plan: Convergent and Divergent Sequences
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to determine whether a sequence is convergent or divergent.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- determine if a given sequence is convergent or divergent and state its limit if it is convergent,
- determine if a sequence is convergent or divergent from its graph or by plotting its graph and state its limit if it is convergent,
- determine if a sequence is convergent or divergent from its rule and state its limit if it is convergent.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- sequences,
- graphs of sequences and functions,
- end behavior of graphs.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- series.
