Objectives

Students will be able to

  • describe a polygon by its parallel, perpendicular, or intersecting lines,
  • describe a polygon by its acute, obtuse, or right angles,
  • describe a polygon by the types of lines and angles it has.

Prerequisites

Students should already be familiar with

  • identifying acute, obtuse, and right angles,
  • naming polygons.

Exclusions

Students will not cover

  • using notation for lines, line segments, or rays,
  • using notation for parallel and perpendicular lines,
  • using congruence notation,
  • using angle measures and angle notation.
