Objectives
Students will be able to
- understand that a horizontal line has an equation of the form ,
- understand that a vertical line has an equation of the form ,
- find the equation of the horizontal or vertical line going through a given point,
- find the intersection point of a horizontal line and a vertical line.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- identifying points in the Cartesian coordinate plane,
- the meaning of parallel and perpendicular lines.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- slopes.
