Lesson Plan: Animal Tissues Biology
This lesson plan includes the objectives and prerequisites of the lesson teaching students how to describe the structure and function of different tissues found in animals.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- recall the organization of cells, tissues, and organs in the human body,
- describe the general structure and function of epithelial tissues, connective tissues, muscle tissues, and nervous tissues,
- describe and give examples of epithelial tissues (simple squamous, stratified squamous, simple cuboidal, and simple columnar), connective tissues (proper, skeletal, and vascular), and muscle tissues (smooth, skeletal, and cardiac).
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- cells as the basic functional units of organisms.
