Lesson Plan: Dilation: Positive Scale Factors Mathematics
This lesson plan includes the objectives and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to dilate shapes about a center of dilation by positive scale factors and fractional and whole numbers and describe dilations.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- understand the definition of a dilation,
- construct a dilation given a scale factor and a center of dilation,
- calculate scale factors and centers of dilation for given dilations.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- dilations with negative scale factors,
- combining transformations.
