Lesson Plan: Reading Graphs

Objectives

Students will be able to

  • fill in a picture graph or bar graph using simple given data,
  • identify values in a picture graph or bar graph,
  • compare results using more than, less than, and equals.

Prerequisites

Students should already be familiar with

  • what a bar graph and picture graph are,
  • the parts of bar graphs and picture graphs,
  • the terms more than, less than, and equals.

Exclusions

Students will not cover

  • the terms qualitative data and quantitative data.
