Objectives

Students will be able to

  • find the lateral surface area of a given prism,
  • find the total surface area of a given prism.

Prerequisites

Students should already be familiar with

  • finding the surface area of cubes and rectangular prisms,
  • finding areas of 2D shapes:
    • squares,
    • rectangles,
    • parallelograms,
    • triangles,
    • trapezoids,
    • kites.

Exclusions

Students will not cover

  • finding the volumes of prisms,
  • cylinders.
