Lesson Plan: The Divergence Theorem Mathematics
This lesson plan includes the objectives and prerequisites of the lesson teaching students how to use the divergence theorem to find the flux of a vector field over a surface by transforming the surface integral to a triple integral.
Students will be able to
- understand the statement of the divergence theorem,
- use the divergence theorem to find the flux of a vector field over a surface.
Students should already be familiar with
- the gradient, divergence, and curl of a vector field,
- multiple integrals and surface integrals.
