Lesson Plan: Water in Our Environments

This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to recognize the importance and properties of water and identify the two sources of water, aquifers and rivers.

Objectives

Students will be able to

  • identify the amount of water in the bodies of living things and humans,
  • explain the importance of water to our bodies,
  • describe how to investigate and list the properties of water using the five senses,
  • identify the sources of water,
  • identify the land environments in which aquifers and rivers are found.

Prerequisites

Students should already be familiar with

  • delta and desert environments present in Egypt,
  • the five senses,
  • living needs.

Exclusions

Students will not cover

  • properties of seawater and oceans (salt water),
  • the chemical name and structure of water.
